Opera

Opéra

We bought tickets to Madame Butterfly a little while ago. It is really cool because if you are young there are discounted tickets, otherwise we wouldn't be able to afford it. Soooo, last night we got all fancied up and went to the opera. It was at the Grand Théâtre which was in my photos from my Patrimoine blog. It was really amazing. We saw Madame Butterfly. There were French subtitles to follow what was going on, so that was nice. In total, it was 2 hours and 45 minutes including the intermission. I wish we had nicer seats, because my back hurt towards the end from turning to the stage! It was a nice experience though.

And of course we had to go play after that :P so we headed to a couple bars

Relaxing at Gambetta
The nearest tram stop to my house is Gambetta. There is conveniently a little park with a tiny waterfall and pond. After running some errands today, we enjoyed the park.

Talk to you soon!

Périgueux

Lauren's Dinner Party
Saturday, Lauren and Laura threw a dinner party for some of us fellow Californians. It was really sweet. They made dinner and we all talked over wine. We even got ice cream :-9

Périgueux
Sunday, we got up early and took an adventure to Périgueux, a small town about an hour by TGV away. It was such a cute town. We went to an old cathedral, some ancient ruins from the roman empire, some cave things, and we explored the river. It was really fun. Our group was originally about 12 large but we split up and it ended up being just four friends and myself. We all forgot what fresh air smelled like. It was amazing, really.

We even found a random raft pulley thing and we crossed the river. Not the one above, there was a bigger river next to it. You had to pull this rope to make the boat/platform move. We felt like we were in huckleberry fin. When we got to the other side, the air was so fresh. It was so green and beautiful. There were these caves that said not to enter, but we kinda did. Here's the pics ;)

Headed back

More adventures to come :)
