Home
Today, I came home from a day of class and school supply shopping to find a package on my bed. Mom sent me some Reese's and chocolate covered macadamia, a giant (I think - or maybe it's just normal American size haha) peanut butter, blue diamond almonds for my host family, and some favorite toiletries. The boy I live with, Inel (I have no idea how to spell...) really liked the Reese's. Johanna asked where her chocolate was haha but I just couldn't give up my Mauna Loa's. I've already nearly finished the bag, fatty.
I have been having such a great time I haven't really been feeling home sick lately. When I opened the package, it made me miss my awesome mom and simple things from home. I didn't even realize I haven't seen one Reese's candy here. Anyways, it was so nice to have something special from home sent special to me.
Class
Today was our professor's last day. She has been teaching her entire life and now she is retiring. Most of our class was in a meeting today so instead of doing a lesson today, she told us a very condensed version of her interesting life. She met her now husband in California when she was in her early 20's. He is from Roseville and he is retiring this year from teach in Paris. They have had a long distance relationship from California to France, Bordeaux to Paris, The UK to France, and each has traveled the world. She's got some spunk though! She just finally married him 4 years ago and when I asked her (since they are both retiring) if they are going to move in together and live in Paris or the countryside she didn't want to make any commitments. She gave us her address and phone number. I hope to keep in contact.
Last Night's Dinner
Last night we celebrated the end of our classes and the beginning of our new classes. We went to a nice restaurant - yes, all 54 of us. It was crazy. I had the Salmon. Since living in France, I have had fish a couple times. Pretty much all the vegetarians in our group (about 11) have given up all together or become pescatarian. After, we went for drinks. It was nice because there were just 5 of us for that.
