Sorry for the incompetent post earlier. I was severely jet-lagged and to add to it all it felt like Murphy's Law up in this piece. I'll try to make this story as short as possible..
As you all know I got extremely sick leaving SFO from anxiety. After that, I thought the worst of the worst was over. Not. We got to Chicago which was a pretty bootsy airport, but that is beside the fact. We had the longest flight to Paris and hit a storm on the way. It was a pretty bumpy ride to say the least. Then, some people started talking about us in French right next to us! WTF? Rude. A little while later one was asking the other for a tissue and when they couldn't find one, Marina handed them some. :P Insert smug-yet-diplomatic-American-face here:
When we finally landed the bridge that connects the airport to the plane was malfunctioning, thus we had to wait in a hot plane for at least another half hour. They couldn't get the bridge to connect so we had to climb stairs out of the plane onto the tarmac and walk to the airport. Here's a couple pictures that really captured the moment...
As you can tell, that was a blast. Then the guy forgot to stamp Marina's passport. I couldn't find my luggage. We didn't know where to hail a taxi. Our key didn't work for our room... In the end it all worked out. Unfortunately we missed our bike ride around the city because my ass fell asleep so fast when we got to our hotel.
We did check out our arrondissement (the 10th) and it's pretty cool. We bought a few things at the local grocery store and ate at a local restaurant. There are cafés on every street and corner. The architecture of the city is amazing. It is truly a beautiful city and we can't wait to explore it more tomorrow. I will leave you with some pictures of our place.
